Agronutris raises €100 million for factory in Eastern France

Agronutris, a company specialising in insect breeding and the production of meal and oil for agriculture and animal feed, has raised €100 million to finance two new sites.

A new industrial unit in Rethel, Eastern France

With this financial contribution, the start-up aims at industrialising its manufacturing process and opening a first industrial unit in Rethel in the Ardennes by the end of 2022.

Thanks to the ideal location of the Rethel site, the company will also have access to the Belgian and German markets. In addition, the site is located close to other agri-food industries whose by-products and co-products are used to feed the insects raised within the factory.

This industrial project should create over 200 jobs in France. The company’s long-term aims at deploying nine production sites by 2029 to reach a cumulative annual conversion capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of bio-residues.
