Nutchel chooses Ervy-le-Châtel for its second forest village in Eastern France
After a successful first establishment in Alsace in 2021 and supported by Grand Est Développement International, Nutchel announces the development of a second forest village in Ervy-le-Châtel to expand its offer of atypic accommodation in the middle of nature.
The choice of Ervy-le-Châtel (Aube) for a second location of Nutchel in Eastern France
Conquered by the potential for sustainable tourism in Eastern France, Bernard Von Laethem, co-founder of Nutchel, has been in contact with Grand Est Développement International since 2023 to identify other potential development sites for Nutchel. Among the various site proposals, one of the offers built with its partner Business Sud Champagne has attracted all its interest in Ervy-le-Châtel. In close cooperation with the city, the project aimed to take over the old municipal campsite in order to develop a high-end and environmentally friendly tourism offer.
Bernard Van Laethem, Nutchel: “We were seduced by the soul of the site and the cultural projects, especially in the arts, carried by the city, in resonance with the image and experience we want to bring to our visitors”.
This new location will include 16 wooden huts of 20 and 30 m2 with a possible extension consisting of 6 additional huts. Great economic benefits are expected for this rural area on the outskirts of the Paris Region. The development of the site will indee be accompanied by a strong demand for restaurants, local products, and cultural and leisure activities.
A meaningful partnership for Grand Est Développement International like Nutchel
Already established in Alsace for more than two years, Nutchel is a very relevant example of dynamism and creativity in the field of responsible tourism. Their projects aim to rehabilitate old tourist sites with a positive impact on the environment and local development. Indeed 15% of the price of the nights spent in their forest villages are dedicated to the reforestation of the site. This is exactly the type of tourism project that the Eastern France wants to support and see develop on its territory. Grand Est Développement International is delighted with this renewed confidence in the region and its stakeholders.
In a report dedicated to Nutchel’s success story made in March 2023 (read here) we asked Bernard Van Laethem the reasons why Nutchel continued its research for another location in Eastern France:
