QPerfect Strengthens a Growing Quantum Hub in Strasbourg

Strasbourg-based QPerfect goes international with the deployment of its quantum emulator MIMIQ™ on QUREKA™, an hybrid cloud platform operated by South Korea’s SDT Inc.

Available since February 1st, 2026, this high‑performance cloud service allows research centers and industrial R&D teams to design and test quantum algorithms at unprecedented scale. It should help simulating circuits with thousands of qubits and millions of logic gates. This goes far beyond the limits of today’s physical quantum machines.

Strategic Investment by the Canadian BTQ Technology

This development builds on the strategic investment made in late 2025 by BTQ Technologies Corp., a Canadian company listed on Nasdaq, Cboe Canada and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

BTQ already holds 16.67% of QPerfect. It has nonetheless exercised its option to acquire the start‑up entirely for approximately €2 million, pending regulatory approval. This move positions BTQ as the first publicly listed company fully integrated in neutral‑atom quantum technology. The company now plans to establish its European R&D hub in QPerfect offices in Strasbourg.

CESQ: A European hub shaping the future of quantum sciences

At the present time, QPerfect is established at the CESQ – European Center for Quantum Sciences. This center one of France’s five national Quantum Hubs and a flagship of the Grand Est Region innovation landscape.
The CESQ was inaugurated in October 2023 at the University of Strasbourg, in partnership with the CNRS. The center brings together 31 international researchers and engineers working across experimental, theoretical and applied quantum sciences, including:

  • quantum physics
  • chemistry
  • materials science
  • photonics
  • and quantum computing

The CESQ strongly encourages technology transfer and the creation of startups such as Qperfect. It also hosts major platforms such as AQCESS, a quantum computing facility offering researchers and industry access to 400 high‑quality atomic qubits.

The CESQ is also a driver of international cooperation, building strong ties to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) through EUCOR – The European Campus.

Since March 2025, CESQ has been managing MaQuEst, Eastern France Quantum Hub, part of France’s national network of “Maisons du Quantique”. This hub is currently fully dedicated to quantum computing and hybrid HPC(High Performance Computing)–quantum workflows.

Looking ahead: Quantum Week 2026 in Strasbourg

To celebrate the first anniversary of MaQuEst, the CESQ will host Quantum Week 2026 from 23 to 28 March on the Cronenbourg campus in Strasbourg. This scientific event will bring together researchers, industry partners and students to explore advances in quantum physics, chemistry, materials, photonics and computing.

Held at the CESQ headquarters, this event will aim at transforming the center into a meeting point for European and international quantum communities and present the region’s growing leadership in hybrid HPC–quantum technologies.
