The company Newcleo will soon set up its future nuclear fuel manufacturing facility using recycled materials in the Aube department in Eastern France. This initiative aims to promote the circular economy in the nuclear sector in a pioneering way. In particular, it will reduce nuclear waste and limit mining.

Since the meeting between Franck Leroy, President of the Grand Est Region, and the newcleo teams in Rome on October 24, 2024, all regional and local stakeholders (such as Rand Est Développement and Business Sud Champagne in particular) have been mobilized alongside the Grand Est Region and Business France to support this strategic project.

newcleo plans to invest €1,8 bn. and the creation of 1,700 direct jobs. This initiative once again demonstrates a capacity for collective action in support of a major industrial ambition for the Region and a strong commitment to the circular economy applied to nuclear energy.
