Based on natural biopolymers, endowed with antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and biocompatible properties. Originating from Inserm in Strasbourg, the company relies on over 20 years of research and patented technology based on bio-intelligence and artificial intelligence to design personalized active interfaces tailored to the specific needs of each client.

Main Activity

Spartha Medical offers innovative solutions for the prevention of nosocomial infections and the fight against antibiotic resistance, notably through:

• The development of custom coatings for medical devices (implants, dressings, surgical materials), capable of eradicating bacteria, viruses, and fungi, while promoting tissue regeneration and implant integration.
• The application of its technologies on various surfaces, living or inert, through spray, hydrogel, or ready-to-use kits, easy to use and environmentally friendly.
• A co-development and personalized testing service for industrial or academic partners, integrating surface analysis, biological characterization, and formulation optimization via AI (spartha|SHIELD).

Ongoing Developments

Spartha Medical is finalizing the development of its first medical device: a coating kit, protect|ION, including an ergonomic cartridge gun, aimed at preventing infections and wound healing, currently in preclinical testing for CE certification and clinical studies. The company is working on the industrialization of its solutions, notably through robots capable of applying coatings on all types of implants, and on expanding its applications to other sectors (cosmetics, hygiene, industrial surfaces).

Winner of several European programs including the EIC Accelerator, Spartha Medical benefits from public and private support to accelerate its R&D, strengthen its teams, and prepare the market launch of its products. Spartha Medical positions itself as a reference player, at the heart of Europe, in bio-intelligence applied to infection prevention, with an offer of multifunctional, customizable, and durable coatings, serving human health and product safety.
